A female officer taking part in a Nigerian Army ceremonial parade suddenly became unsteady and collapsed, but a nearby soldier reacted instantly and stopped her from falling to the floor.

The incident happened inside a hall decorated with Nigerian flags, international symbols, and dignitaries dressed in traditional attire. The environment suggests it may have been a passing-out parade or an official presentation event at the Nigerian Army War College.

Witnesses say the officer, who was standing in formation with other personnel, appeared to lose balance without warning. Within moments, a red-beret officer beside her caught her, while additional soldiers stepped in to assist. She was gently escorted out of the line-up as the audience looked on with concern.

Many viewers have since commended the quick-thinking response of the male soldier. Experts note that situations like this can occur during long parades because standing still for extended periods may reduce blood circulation, sometimes leading to fainting. Similar incidents have also been reported in military formations globally, including among British royal guards during national ceremonies.
